Applicando una nuova tecnica di imaging gli scienziati hanno ricostruito le strutture e i processi profondi del vulcano campano.
“I fluidi profondi ”, spiega Simona Petrosino, ricercatrice INGV, “possono indurre terremoti e per comprendere meglio i loro processi di migrazione il team di studio ha messo a punto un nuovo metodo applicato ai Campi Flegrei. Questa tecnica ha permesso di “seguire” i fluidi impiegando diversi intervalli temporali (da poche ore ad anni) di registrazioni del rumore sismico”.
